TCL is a not-for-profit organisation in Atherton Nth Qld. We support people with disabilities or mental illness in our community.

We strive to provide our clients with support in an understanding, flexible and empathetic way.

We are always seeking great support workers to join our awesome team. Out team are a diverse bunch from all walks of life. Starting rate is currently $38.08/hr 

Qualifications not necessary (we will train you) but the following are a must….

Essential

  • Perform tasks to support the health, hygiene and general well-being of clients including personal care
  • Assist clients to achieve their goals though individual support plans
  • Perform a range of household tasks with clients which can range from cooking meals, cleaning, shopping to assisting with bathing
  • Support clients to access their community and attend medical appointments

More essential:

  • A current Disability Worker Screening Clearance Card & Blue Card (working with Children) is required before you can commence work
  • Current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications
  • Mobile Phone
  • Current unrestricted Manual Queensland Drivers Licence and a registered, insured vehicle that you will be required to use for work  

Most essential:

  • A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with disabilities and mental illness, and a commitment to supporting and promoting their individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals
  • Availability and willingness to work any day or time of the week or weekend.* Due to the nature of the support we provide, shifts can be office hours, evenings, sleepovers and/or weekends.
  • Personal qualities – reliable, trustworthy, resilient, a team player, self-confident and of course you must possess empathy
  • Working with vulnerable people, it’s important you have no health issues that will affect you carrying out duties like pushing wheel chairs or exercising.
  • NOTE: Employers and workers need to comply with any public health orders and directions that apply to them.

     TCL falls into Tier 1 and Tier 2 work. Therefore we consider it’s reasonable to require all our employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as we work with clients who are particularly vulnerable to  the health impacts of COVID-19.

    Tier 1 work, where employees are required as part of their duties to interact with people with an increased risk of being infected with COVID-19

    Tier 2 work, where employees are required to have close contact with people who are particularly vulnerable to the health impacts of COVID-19 (for example, employees working in health care or aged care). 

    TCL strongly encourages all staff to be vaccinated and keep up to date with boosters .
