TCL is a not-for-profit organisation in Atherton Nth Qld. We support people with disabilities or mental illness in our community. We strive to provide our clients with support in an understanding, flexible and empathetic way.
We are seeking support workers to provide care and support to vulnerable members of our community.
Qualifications not necessary (we will train you) but the following are a must….
•Perform tasks to support the health, hygiene and general well-being of clients including personal care
•Assist clients to achieve their goals though individual support plans
•Perform a range of household tasks with clients which can range from cooking meals, cleaning, shopping to assisting with bathing
•Support clients to access their community and attend medical appointments
More essential:
•Current Senior First Aid and CPR qualifications
•Mobile Phone
•Current unrestricted Manual Queensland Drivers Licence and own a registered, comprehensively-insured vehicle
•A current Positive notice card (PNC) and Blue Card for (working with Children)
Most essential:
•A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with disabilities and mental illness, and a commitment to supporting and promoting their individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals
•Availability and willingness to work any day or time of the week or weekend.* Due to the nature of the support we provide, shifts can be office hours, evenings, sleepovers and/or weekends.
•Personal qualities – reliable, trustworthy, resilient, a team player, self-confident and of course you must possess empathy
•Working with vulnerable people, it’s important you have no health issues that will affect you carrying out duties like pushing wheel chairs or exercising.
